INTERRA World Terrier Specialty, Maribor, 17.4.2017. Slovenian Terrier Club organized this beautiful event for Terriers. Every serious Terrier lover passionate about any breed from Terrier group should attend this event. What I really enjoyed was expertized symposium with professional Terrier topics and Gala Dinner at Maribor City Hotel. Quality lectures were given by aknowledged international judges but one specific topic made very positive and motivational influence on me. Why?
I will go straight to the point, as a breeder who is very active in showing dogs I cannot close my eyes and pretend that the big diferrence between specialist judging and all round judging is not so badly diferrent. A lot of times I feel like all round judges dont really understand our breed. Unfortunatelly. That is why topic about „IMPORTANCE OF JUDGING ON BREED SPECIFIC FASHION” made my heart jump! I was glued on every word! Mr. Alan Hedges, thank you so much! Mr. ALAN HEDGES(UK) breeder of SBT since 1977 under prefix Ramblix, president of Breed Council in UK, breed specialist and has judged the most prestigious dog shows all over the world. Since 1996 he annually publishes his book The Stafford book. He is also a lecturer who teaches a lot about the breed in UK and abroad.
Another big thanks to Slovenian Terrier Club for inviting me to write an article for INTERRA YEARBOOK. I was writing about BT head, simply because there is no great Bull Terrier without quality head and it is very needed for our breed that judges, breeders, owners, realize importance of the breed Standard, in this case when it comes to BT heads.
